Energy Saving Game completed
The game is over.
After 6 weeks of studying questions about their energy use and behavior, the participants in the Energy Saving Game were presented with the prizes in community center 't Slot on November 16. More than 80 households spread across Zwolle, Utrecht and Waalwijk had registered for the Game and Genderbeemd was represented with more than 40 participants from Nijenrode, Aldendriel, Frankendaal, Martin Luther Kingstraat and Jan Palachstraat. Every week, a prize was awarded to the team that performed the best: a water-saving shower head, an energy meter, a book about healthy eating, plastic-free toothpaste, a voucher to buy energy-saving materials, etc. The participants learned a lot about how to deal with the heating or electrical appliances within their homes:
- Which are the big "energy guzzlers"?
- What can I change in my behavior?
- What can I improve in my home and what will be the benefits?
It is clear that participants now have much more knowledge about their energy bills and energy consumption. They deal with it much more consciously and that is a win. Some reported that family members also played a role and are now much more aware of lighting and heating consumption.
The awards ceremony in 't Slot was very pleasant. In addition to the prizes for the teams, there were individual prizes for the participants with the most points. It is striking that the Genderbeemd residents have done very well. Of the first 10 places, 8 were for Genderbeemd residents.
Topper was Marjan who answered all questions and assignments correctly, closely followed by Jurjen and Prosper. The prizes for these participants were made available by 040energie and the municipality of Eindhoven: a free membership of 040energie year 2024, a home inspection with an energy coach and an energy meter. These are all practical prizes that participants can use straight away.
The teams, led by a team captain, worked together very well. Some met weekly and app groups were created to communicate with each other. It is nice to see that mutual contacts in our neighborhood have been strengthened in this playful way. Of course, kudos go to the team captains Margot, Marloes, Hedwig, Antoon and Ad.

Save energy, good for your wallet
On September 27, more than 50 residents of Genderbeemd, 't Ven, Ooievaarsnest and Hanevoet met in community center 't Slot, to be informed about the possibilities and financing of insulating their homes. We had invited 040energie to provide this presentation. The central issue was: I want to save energy and make my home more sustainable, but I don't really know where to start
A representative of the municipality of Eindhoven was also present. She briefly discussed the vision and policy of the municipality. One of the pillars of that policy is that the municipality wants to encourage its residents to actively save energy. The municipality has opened a (digital) counter for this purpose where residents can find information: www.regionaalenergieloket.nl/eindhoven.
The experts from 040energie discussed the installation and operation of solar panels, the balancing arrangement and how to get a good quote. That's actually very simple. Price, quality and warranty agreements have been made within the existing 040energy network. So when you are thinking about solar panels, you can request a quote without obligation (digitally) via https://040energie.nl/acties/item/31/actie-zonnepanelen. The quotation indicates: the price, the number of panels, the installation plan and the planning. If you still have doubts, you can contact other companies yourself. This way you can make a informed choice..
The same applies to the insulation of the roof, facade, floor and window frames. You can register for this on the website 040energie.nl/acties. However, if you need a general picture of your home, you can contact an energy coach via 040energie. He/she can help you make the right choice.
With regard to financing, we would like to mention the ISDE subsidy. On the page https://www.rvo.nl/subsidies-financiering/isde/woningeigenaren you will find the conditions for subsidizing 1 or more energy-saving measures. It turns out that this scheme is very interesting for private home owners. The payback period of the investment is greatly reduced.

Bevindingen uit de Enquête
Uit de gehouden enquête blijkt dat het overgrote deel van de respondenten over een koopwoning beschikt en dat de meeste huizen een energielabel B hebben; niet zo heel gek voor een buurt met huizen uit de 70 en 80er jaren! Voor een aantal huizen is het niet bekend: weet U dat het bij de verkoop van uw huis noodzakelijk is om een label te kunnen overhandigen?.
Verder valt ons uit de enquête op dat er nog best veel huishoudens op gas koken. Zowel uit brandveiligheid als voor comfort bevelen wij aan om ook eens een inductiekookplaat te overwegen. Inductie is de moderne manier van elektrisch koken, maar er komt geen CO2 en veel minder vocht vrij. Er is veel informatie beschikbaar op internet en bij de consumentenorganisaties.
Veel mensen vinden het lastig om goede en betrouwbare informatie te vinden maar ook zeker om goede, betrouwbare en betaalbare vakmensen te vinden. Ook vinden een aantal mensen de financiële investering nog te groot. Toch zijn er ook heel veel maatregelen die u wel kunt nemen zonder of met maar een kleine investering. Zie bijvoorbeeld het stukje over de groene gevel op 040energie.nl (nieuws/oplossing) . En voor grotere investeringen zijn diverse oplossingen mogelijk waarmee ook de gemeente bijvoorbeeld kan helpen.
Ook hebben veel mensen aangegeven graag zonnepanelen, muurisolatie of een warmtepomp te willen laten installeren. De betrouwbare adviseurs van 040energie kunnen hier perfect mee assisteren om u aan de juiste adviezen en vakmensen te helpen tegen interessante tarieven.
